Most people these days communicate using mobile messengers on their phones. People can hold conversations by typing in text. They can also use emoticons instead to get their message across. Some emoticons are free, but most have to be purchased for a fee. They are a good way to showcase one’s individuality. Chatting apps can also be used to share photos and videos. You can even send gift vouchers that can be exchanged for real items. There are also group chat rooms where several people can communicate at once. Some chat rooms are for personal matters. Others are work-related. Because a lot of messages can be sent at once, I turn off the alerts for most group chat rooms.

요즘 사람들은 대부분 모바일 메신저로 의사소통을 한다. 글자를 쳐서 대화를 하기도 하지만, 하고 싶은 말을 이모티콘으로 대신하기도 한다. 무료인 것들도 있지만, 거의 대부분은 돈을 주고 사야 한다. 본인의 개성을 나타내기 좋은 방법 중 하나가 바로 이 이모티콘이다. 또한 채팅 앱을 이용해서 사진과 동영상을 공유할 수 있다. 사람들에게 실제 물건으로 교환이 가능한 기프티콘을 보낼 수도 있다. 더불어, 여러 사람이 동시에 대화가 가능한 단체 채팅 방들이 있다. 어떤 채팅 방은 개인적인 용도이고, 어떤 것은 업무와 관련되어 있는 것도 있다. 수많은 대화 내용이 한꺼번에 올라오는 경우도 있어서 나는 대부분의 단체 채팅 방은 알람을 꺼 놓는다.
