Talk about traditional Korean villages.
In Korea, there are many places where traditional houses are preserved in their original form. Korean traditional houses are called hanok. There are villages consisting of these houses. Some have been converted into guest houses. They are very popular among foreign tourists. Visitors can get hands-on experience with traditional Korean culture, and stay overnight. Sometimes, even new buildings are built in the style of hanok. They look and feel traditional. However, they have all the modern amenities, like running water and air-conditioning. I think there is no better way to experience the charm of Korea. I hope the villages will be maintained for a very long time.

한국에는 전통 가옥 원형 그대로 보존해 놓은 곳들이 많이 있다. 한국의 전통 가옥은 한옥이라고 부른다. 이 같은 가옥으로 이루어진 마을도 있다. 일부는 게스트 하우스로 개조되었다. 이런 숙소는 외국인 관광객들 사이에서 인기다. 방문객들은 전통 한국 문화를 직접 체험하고, 거기서 하룻밤을 묵을 수도 있다. 신축 건물도 한옥 형태로 지어지는 경우가 있다. 생김새와 느낌은 전통적이지만 수돗물이나 냉방 시설 등 현대식 편의 시설이 모두 갖춰져 있다. 한국의 매력을 체험하기에 더 이상 좋은 방법은 없다고 생각한다. 이러한 마을들이 아주 오랫동안 보존되기를 희망한다.
