Talk about a time when you bumped into an acquaintance.
I was drinking at a bar with some friends a while ago when I saw a familiar face. Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be a friend from college. I went over to say hello. My friend jumped up and greeted me warmly. We sat down at a nearby table and caught up for a while. My friend had found a job, gotten hitched, and had a baby. The last time we met, we were in school. It was great to meet as members of society. By coincidence, my friend was working at the same company as a close acquaintance of mine. We exchanged business cards and promised to meet again separately. We then returned to our seats. It was a kick to bump into an old friend from school. It was a chance to reflect on memories from the past.

지난번에 술집에서 동료들과 술을 마시고 있는데, 낯익은 얼굴이 보였다. 자세히 보니, 예전 대학교 때 친구였다. 가서 인사를 건냈다. 그 친구는 벌떡 일어나서 매우 반갑게 인사를 했다. 옆 테이블에 잠시 앉아서 밀린 얘기를 나누었다. 그 친구는 취업을 하고 결혼을 해서 아이까지 있다. 예전에 학생 때 마지막으로 봤었는데, 이렇게 사회에 나와서 마주치자 더욱 반가웠다. 때마침 가까운 지인이 일하는 회사에 그 친구도 근무하고 있었다. 서로 명함을 교환하고 언제 따로 한번 보자고 얘기하고 각자 자리로 돌아왔다. 우연히 옛 학교 친구를 만나니 기분이 들떳고, 옛날 추억도 되짚어 볼 수 있는 기회였다.
