Talk about how you dispose of garbage.
Korea has in effect a standardized garbage disposal system. General waste has to be thrown out in standardized bags. The price of a bag depends on its size. When you shop for groceries at a grocery store, you can opt for a standardized bag to carry what you purchase. You can then use the bag later to throw out trash. Recyclables must be disposed of separately. Plastics, bottles, cans, paper and glass must be separated by category. There are also bags that are set aside for food waste. People have to drain out moisture from food waste, place it in a specific bag, and throw it out in a designated place. For large disposables like furniture, people have to pay a processing fee ahead of time.

우리나라는 쓰레기 종량제가 실시 중이다. 일반 쓰레기는 반드시 쓰레기 규격 봉투에 담아 내다 버려야 한다. 규격 봉투는 크기별로 가격이 다르다. 식료품점에서 장을 보고 나서, 담아 주는 봉투를 쓰레기 규격 봉투로 선택할 수도 있다. 그리고 그 봉투를 나중에 쓰레기 버릴 때 쓰면 된다. 재활용품은 별도로 수거해서 내다 버려야 한다. 플라스틱류, 병류, 캔류, 종이, 유리 등은 따로 분리해야 한다. 더불어, 음식물 쓰레기를 따로 버리는 봉투가 있다. 음식물 쓰레기의 물기를 제거해서, 지정 봉투에 담아서, 지정 장소에 내다 버려야 한다. 가구와 같은 큰 물건을 버릴 때는 처리 비용을 사전에 지불하고 내다 버려야 한다.
