Talk about new types of home appliances people use at home.
Some home appliances are newly becoming widespread these days. Clothes dryers are a top example. They have been common overseas for ages, but they hadn’t really caught on in Korea before. However, sales of dryers are going through the root these days. There’s no need to bother with hanging the laundry out to dry. Another selling point is that clothes can be dried more quickly. New types of vacuum cleaners are another example. Wireless vacuums have gone mainstream. They don’t need to be plugged in. They make it much easier to clean the floors. Robot vacuum cleaners with beefed-up artificial intelligence are also selling like hotcakes. There are also more and more new appliances that can be controlled verbally using voice recognition, or by smartphone.

요즘 새롭게 보편화되고 있는 가전 기기들이 있다. 가장 대표적인 예가 빨래 건조기다. 빨래 건조기는 해외에서는 오래전부터 사용되어 왔지만, 한국에서는 좀처럼 보편화되지 않았었다. 그러나 최근 들어서 건조기 판매가 급증하고 있다. 빨래를 널어서 말리는 번거로움을 덜 수 있고, 건조도 더 빠르게 할 수 있다는 장점이 있다. 그 밖에 신형 진공청소기들을 예로 들 수 있다. 선을 꼽지 않아도 되는 무선 청소기들이 대세로 자리잡았다. 이 제품들은 바닥 청소를 훨씬 더 편리하게 해 준다. 또한, 더욱 강화된 인공 지능을 이용한 로봇 청소기들도 판매가 늘고 있다. 사람이 직접 청소를 할 필요가 없다는 것이 가장 큰 장점이다. 그 밖에도 음성 인식이 되어 말로 제어하거나 스마트폰으로 제어할 수 있는 신형 가전 기기들이 점점 늘어나고 있다.
