Talk about raising a cat.
Last spring, I adopted kittens. It was a dream-come-true. Raising a companion animal is a heavy responsibility. I thought long and hard before adopting two kittens. They are munchkins, famed for their short legs and cute appearance. I learned a lot about how cats behave as I raised them. Cats are high-strung animals that prefer very clean environments. Several times a day, they groom themselves with their tongue. Unlike dogs, cats also need a bathroom all to themselves. As soon as they do their business, you have to clean up after them and add clean sand. Although they are clean freaks, cats don’t drink much water. So, they often come down with bladder infections. It costs a pretty penny to get a cat’s regular vaccinations and to cover the costs for medical treatments.


고양이 키우는 것에 대해 이야기해 주세요.
작년 봄에 아기 고양이들을 분양받았다. 소원이 이루어진 기분이었다. 반려동물을 키우는 것은 큰 책임이 따른다. 고심 끝에 고양이 두 마리를 분양받게 되었다. 품종은 짧은 다리와 귀여운 외모를 가진 먼치킨이다. 고양이들을 키우면서 고양이의 습성에 대해 많은 것을 배우게 되었다. 고양이들은 유독 깔끔한 환경을 좋아하는 예민한 동물이다. 하루에도 몇 번이고 자신의 혀로 몸치장을 한다. 또한 고양이들은 강아지들과는 다르게 전용 화장실도 필요하다. 용변을 본 즉시 치워 주고 깨끗한 모래를 채워줘야 한다. 이토록 깔끔한 동물이지만 물을 좀처럼 먹지 않는다. 그래서 방광염에 걸리는 경우도 많다. 고양이의 정기적인 예방 접종 비용과 의료비도 만만치 않다.
