(Mel and Connie are talking at work … )
Connie: Can you guess what I saw yesterday?
Mel: I don't have a clue. Tell me.
Connie: Will you promise not to tell anyone?
Mel: Of course. You've told me many secrets and I've never let you down.
Connie: Yes. I know but this secret will blow your mind. It's about our boss David.
Mel: David? What do you know about him?
Connie: I saw him downtown yesterday. Are you sure you won't tell anyone?
Mel: Don't worry. I always keep my word.
Connie: I saw him with Julie in the mall yesterday.
Mel: What were they doing?
Connie: He bought her a dress and they were holding hands.
Mel: Wow! Are you sure it was David? He's married.
Connie: I'm positive. I was very close to them.

(멜과 카니가 직장에서 얘기한다 …)
카니: 내가 어제 뭘 봤는지 알아?
멜: 내가 어떻게 알아. 얘기해봐.
카니: 아무한테도 얘기하지 않겠다고 약속할래?
멜: 당연하지. 네가 나한테 비밀을 많이 얘기했지만 내가 한번도 널 실망시킨 적 없잖아.
카니: 그래. 알지만 이 비밀은 엄청나게 놀랄 거야. 우리 상사 데이비드에 대한 얘기야.
멜: 데이비드? 그 사람에 대해 뭘 아는데?
카니: 어제 다운타운에서 데이비드를 봤거든. 너 정말 아무한테도 얘기안할 거지?
멜: 걱정 마. 난 항상 내 말은 지키잖니.
카니: 어제 샤핑몰에서 줄리랑 함께 있는 걸 봤어.
멜: 뭘 하고 있었어?
카니: 줄리한테 옷도 사주고 둘이 손을 잡고 있었어.
멜: 어머! 데이비드가 맞아? 그 사람은 결혼했어.
카니: 분명하지. 내가 아주 가까이에 있었어.
