Talk about mandatory military service in Korea.
In Korea, it is mandatory for all able-bodied men to serve in the military for roughly two years. They can serve in the Army, Air Force, Navy or Marines. Most people serve in their early 20s. Men receive a physical when they come of age. Later, they get an enlistment notice. Military service can be delayed if there is a good reason. New enlistees receive basic training at boot camp. Often, they are accompanied by their families to the entry ceremony. It’s easy to get homesick in the military. When the service period is over, soldiers are discharged. Most people really look forward to this day.

한국의 군 복무에 대해 이야기해 주세요.
한국에서는 신체가 건강한 남자라면, 누구나 군 복무를 약 2년간 의무적으로 해야 한다. 육군, 공군, 해군, 혹은 해병대 등에서 복무를 할 수 있다. 주로 20대 초반에 군 복무를 하게 된다. 나이가 되면 신체검사를 받는다. 그리고 나중에 입영 영장을 받는다. 타당한 사우가 있다면 입대를 늦출 수도 있다. 신병들은 신병 훈련소에서 기본 훈련을 받는다. 입소식에는 온 가족이 동행하는 경우가 많다. 군 생활을 하면 집이 그리워지기 쉽다. 장병들은 복무 기간이 끝나면 제대를 한다. 대부분 이날을 손꼽아 기다린다.
