Talk about when you were getting a new home.
I moved into my current house a year and a half ago. First, I picked a location to which I wanted to move. And then, I went to several real estate agencies in the area to see what they had available. They showed me a few options based on my price range. I went from one place to another to check if I liked them. I couldn’t make up my mind at first, but eventually, I picked a place that seemed decent enough. The monthly rent was reasonable enough, but the only problem was that it was a bit far away from the main streets. The nearest bus stop was a good 15-minute walk away. I thought I needed the exercise, so I went ahead and signed a two-year lease.

지금 살고 있는 집으로 일 년 반 전에 이사를 왔다. 가장 먼저 어느 지역으로 이사를 갈지 결정했다. 그리고 나서는 그 지역의 부동산 몇 군데를 방문해서 나와 있는 집들을 봤다. 부동산 측에서 내가 생각한 가격대에 맞는 몇 군데를 보여 주었다. 집집마다 돌며 내 마음에 드는지를 직접 보았다. 처음에는 마음의 결정을 할 수가 없었지만, 결국 괜찮은 곳을 최종 결정하게 되었다. 월세도 적당한 편이었는데, 위치가 주요 도로에서 조금 거리가 있는 곳이라는 게 문제였다. 가장 가까운 버스 정거장이 도보로 족히 15분 정도 되는 곳에 있었다. 나에게 운동이 필요하다는 생각도 있었기 때문에, 2년 임대 계약을 했다.
