There are a number of dry cleaner’s near our house. If clothes can’t be washed with water in a washing machine, we send them to the dry cleaner’s. These include sweaters and winter coats. Things like shirts that have to be ironed are also sent to the dry cleaner’s all at once to be washed and ironed. We also send large blankets and carpets to the dry cleaner’s from time to time. The shop that I use has a pick-up and delivery service, so it’s very convenient. Also, the laundry fees are not too steep, so I use the dry cleaner’s quite often. There is also a laundromat in my building. There are several washing machines and dryers. Mostly, they are coin-operated. There are a lot of single-person households these days. People who don’t have a washing machine use laundromats like this one.

집 주변의 세탁소에 대해 이야기해 주세요.
우리 집 근처에는 세탁소가 몇 군데 있다. 세탁기에서 물로 빨 수 없는 옷들은 주로 세탁소에 맡겨서 세탁을 한다. 니트 소재의 제품들이나 겨울 코트 등도 이렇게 세탁소에 맡긴다. 더불어, 다림질이 필요한 셔츠와 같은 것들을 세탁소에 한꺼번에 맡겨서 세탁과 다림질을 해오기도 한다. 간혹 큰 이불이나 카페트 등을 세탁소에 맡기기도 한다. 내가 이용하는 세탁소의 경우, 옷을 수거하고 배달해 주어서 매우 편리하다. 세탁 비용도 부담스럽지 않은 가격대여서, 세탁소를 자주 이용하게 되는 것 같다. 더불어, 지금 사는 건물에는 빨래방도 있다. 세탁기와 건조기가 여러 대 있고, 주로 동전을 넣어서 기계들을 이용하게 된다. 요즘은 일인 가구가 많아져서 세탁기가 따로 없는 가정의 경우, 이러한 빨래방을 이용하는 것 같다.
