Earlier this year, the user information of millions of Facebook users was leaked. It was a big deal. Personal information leaks online occur very frequently. To make use of services on the Internet, people have to enter their personal information. These days, search histories and user patterns are all recorded permanently. When this information is compromised by hackers, it’s a major headache. Users experience a serious invasion of privacy. It makes them feel uneasy when using the Internet. The hacked personal information could be used in identity theft crimes. Some exposure of personal information is part and parcel of cyberspace. However, obtaining and abusing personal information by shady means should be prevented. Before the problem gets out of hand, we have to nip it in the bud by strengthening laws

올해 초 수백만 명의 페이스북 사용자 정보가 도용된 사건이 알려지면서 큰 파문이 일었다. 인터넷에서의 개인 정보 유출은 매우 빈번하게 발생한다. 인터넷에서 서비스를 이용하기 위해서는 개인 정보를 입력해야 한다. 요즘에는 검색 기록이나 사용자 패턴도 전부 영원히 기록된다. 이러한 정보들이 해커들에 의해 뚫리면 큰 문제가 발생한다. 사용자들은 심각한 사생활 침해를 겪게 된다. 이로 인해 인터넷 사용에 불안감을 느끼게 된다. 해킹을 당한 개인 정보는 신원 도용 범죄에 사용될 수도 있다. 인터넷 공간이다 보니, 어느 정도의 개인 정보 노출은 불가피하다. 그러나 부당하게 개인 정보가 취득되고 악용하는 일들은 막아야 한다. 사태가 더욱 심각해지기 전에 관련 법률을 강화해서 미연에 방지해야 한다.
