Talk about when you take time off throughout the year.
There is a cap on the number of vacation days I can use in a year. I use them whenever I see fit, as monthly or yearly paid holidays. I usually take five days off for my yearly summer vacation. With weekends before and after, I can take off about nine days, so it’s good for traveling abroad. Generally, when a day is sandwiched between public holidays, I use a vacation day and enjoy a long holiday. Sometimes, when I am sick or get hurt, I have to use a vacation day without prior notice. There are also long-term leave policies. People can go on maternity leaves when they give birth or go on childcare leave to look after their kids. During their leave of absence, they receive only a portion of their monthly payments. If there are vacation days leftover, people can get reimbursed for those unused vacation days at the end of the year.

연중 휴가로 쓸 수 있는 일수가 정해져 있다. 이러한 휴가일을 월차, 연차 등으로 적기에 사용한다. 매년 가능 여름 휴가를 위해서는 주로 5일 휴가를 낸다. 앞뒤로 주말을 붙이면 9일 정도를 쉴 수 있어서, 해외여행을 가기가 좋다. 공휴일 사이에 샌드위치 데이터 끼어 있는 경우에는 휴가를 내서 긴 연휴를 즐기는 것이 일반적이다. 몸이 아프거나 어디를 다쳤을 때, 얘기치 못하게 휴가를 내야 하는 경우도 있다. 그 밖에 정기 휴직 제도도 있다. 출산을 했을 때 출산 휴가를 낼 수 있고, 아이들 양육을 위해 휴직을 낼 수도 있다. 휴직 기간에는 월급의 일부분만 받게 된다. 휴가가 남아 있는 경우에는 연말에 안 쓴 휴가일 만큼 급여로 환급받을 수 있다.
