A custom is an activity, a way of behaving, or an event which is usual or traditional in a particular society or in particular circumstances.
If it is your custom to do something, you usually do it in particular circumstances.
If a shop has your custom, you regularly buy things there.
Superstitious people believe that broken glass is very unlucky. Some may scoff at such superstitions, but I am not so dismissive. Any custom that encourages caution is valuable in my book.
In my country, it is a custom to bring a gift when you visit someone's house.
I had to order a custom table because the standard sizes would not fit in the space.
