[영어 회화] What?! This I've got to see.

 

(John is talking about his son Eddie to his wife Mary in the kitchen…)
John: You know how many times we've tried to get Eddie to wear nicer clothes to school?
Mary: Oh yes. A thousand times.
John: But he would never listen?
Mary: He always wears jeans and T-shirts.
John: Well all of a sudden he's wearing nice pants and shirts.
Mary: What?! This I've got to see.
John: And he cut his hair!
(Eddie walks into the kitchen.)
Mary: Oh Eddie you look great! Why the new look?
Eddie: There's a new girl in my class.

(잔이 부엌에서 아들 에디 문제를 놓고 아내 매리와 이야기를 한다…)
잔 : 에디가 학교갈 때 점잖은 옷 입히려고 우리가 얼마나 애썼는지 알죠?
매리 : 그럼 알지. 천 번 정도는 될걸.
잔 : 한데 전혀 말을 안들었잖아요?
매리 : 항상 청바지에 T-셔츠 입었잖아.
잔 : 근데 에디가 갑자기 점잖은 바지와 셔츠를 입는 거에요.
매리 : 뭐라고? 봐야 믿겠는걸.
잔 : 그리고 머리도 잘랐어요!
(에디가 부엌으로 들어온다.)
매리 : 아 에디 너 보기 좋다! 왜 스타일을 바꿨니?
에디 : 우리 반에 여자애가 새로 전학왔어요.
