Talk about when a zipper didn’t work.
The zipper on my backpack used to get jammed all the time. I always thought it was because I stuffed too many things in it. I was so crammed that the stress on the zipper caused the teeth to separate. It got stuck again recently, so I looked at it closely and found a bent tooth. Come to think of it, I might have yanked at it one too many times. I decided to fix my backpack once and for all. I replaced the zipper pull and I used tweezers to fix the bent tooth. I lubricated the zipper tracks with graphite. I read somewhere that pencil lead can lubricate a zipper nicely.

지퍼가 고장 났던 경험에 대해서 이야기해 주세요.
내 백팩의 지퍼는 매우 자주 걸리곤 한다. 나는 늘 내가 가방에 물건을 너무 많이 넣어서 그런 거라고 생각했었다. 백팩이 너무 꽉 차서 지퍼에 압박을 주어 지퍼 이빨이 벌어졌다. 최근에 또 지퍼가 걸려서 자세히 봤더니 지퍼 이빨이 휘어져 있었다. 생각해 보니 지퍼를 세게 너무 많이 잡아당겼던 것 같다. 나는 백팩을 고치는 김에 제대로 한번 고치기로 마음먹었다. 지퍼 손잡이를 교체하고 핀셋으로 휘어진 이빨 부분을 고쳤다. 그리고 흑연으로 지퍼를 부드럽게 했다. 어디선가 연필심으로 지퍼를 부드럽게 할 수 있다고 읽었기 때문이다.
