Talk about the state of Korea’s economy.
Korea’s economy is heavily dependent on exports. Competition is getting heated for various manufacturing sectors. More efforts are needed to be competitive in the global market. With sluggish growth for the Korean economy in recent years, the labor market is tight. In particular, youth unemployment is a major problem. Another issue is the lower quality of life for workers because of more temporary positions. To maintain economic growth, new growth sectors must be fostered through technological development. Also, policies are needed to promote corporate activity by small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Institutional improvements are also needed to make it easier to start a business based on creative ideas.

한국의 경제는 수출 의존도가 높다. 여러 제조 분야의 경우 경쟁이 점점 치열해지면서, 전 세계 시장에서 경쟁력을 갖추기 위한 노력들이 더욱 필요하다. 무엇보다 최근 몇 년 사이에 한국 경제의 저성장이 이어지면서 일자리가 부족한 상황이다. 특히 청년 실업률이 높아지고 있다는 것이 큰 문제가 아닐 수 없다. 더불어, 비정규직 근로자가 늘어나면서 근로자들의 삶의 질이 떨어지는 것도 하나의 문제이다. 경제 성장을 시속하기 위해서는 기술 개발을 통해 신성장 산업들을 육성해야 한다. 더불어, 중소기업들의 기업 활동을 더욱 활성화할 수 있는 정책들도 필요하다. 창의적 아이디어를 바탕으로 한 창업을 용이하게 해 주는 제도적 개선도 필요하다.
