Talk about an English study group you are participating in.
Every Saturday morning, I take part in an English study group. I participate to become fluent in English, and also because I get a kick out of meeting great people to chew the fat. It’s easier to pump myself up for language studies when I’m in a group, compared to when I’m on my own. We study each week using an EBS radio book called “입이 트이는 영어.” It’s a monthly, so it’s updated each month with new topics. It’s really helpful for studying English because it’s packed full of useful expressions. The study sessions take about 2 hours. If at all possible, we try to speak only in English. By discussing expressions that caught our interest and questions we have, I feel like my English speaking level is improving, bit by bit. These weekly English study sessions are bright spots in my life.

나는 매주 토요일 아침에 영어 스터디 그룹에 참여한다. 스터디를 하는 이유는, 영어 실력을 늘리고 싶고 좋은 사람들과 만나서 얘기하는 것을 좋아하기 때문이다. 어학 공부는 혼자서 할 때보다 함께 모여서 할 때 동기 부여가 더 잘된다. EBS 라디오 교재인 ‘입이 트이는 영어’ 책으로 매주 스터디를 한다. 그 책은 매일 새로운 주제들로 업데이트되는 월간지다. 유용한 표현들이 가득해서 영어 공부에 도움이 많이 된다. 스터디는 대략 2시간 정도 진행되는데, 가급적이면 영어로만 대화하려고 노력한다. 흥미로웠던 표현이나 궁금한 점에 대해서 이야기를 나누다 보면, 영어 말하기가 조금씩 더 잘되는 느낌이다. 이처럼 매주 하는 영어 스터디는 내 삶에 큰 활력을 불어넣어 주는 시간이다.
