(Shelley and Allan are having coffee…)
Allan: I'm very happy this week is over.
Shelley: You don't have a job yet. Why are you tired?
Allan: I've been pounding the pavement all week. I've dropped off my resume at every office I could find.
Shelley: How did you do?
Allan: When I started I didn't think I had a chance. It seems like there are a lot of applicants for every job.
Shelley: And then?
Allan: Remember that computer job I mentioned to you? I went to the personnel office and talked to the manager.
Shelley: What did he say?
Allan: I've got an interview next week. He liked my resume.
Shelley: That's wonderful. You're going to get the job because you've got what it takes.
