Just a few years ago, wireless internet was unthinkable. It was in the realm of science fiction. Nowadays, wi-fi is nearly ubiquitous. The connection speed is mind-boggling. In Korea, the quality of service is sky-high. Some people even take it for granted. I am still staggered by the convenience of wi-fi. First of all, it does away with the hassle of internet cables. Secondly, almost every café can do double duty as an office thanks to wi-fi. It’s common to see people burning the midnight oil in coffee shops. The wireless internet services can help people work while they get their cup of joe.

몇 년 전만 해도, 무선 인터넷은 상상조차 할 수 없었다. 무선 인터넷은 공상과학의 영역이었다. 지금은 거의 어디에서나 와이파이가 된다. 연결 속도도 놀라울 정도이다. 한국에서는 인터넷 서비스의 품질이 매우 높다. 어떤 사람들은 이를 당연하게 받아들이기도 한다. 나는 아직도 와이파이의 편리함에 깜짝 놀라곤 한다. 무엇보다도, 와이파이는 인터넷 선의 번거로움을 없앤다. 두번째로, 와이파이 덕분에 거의 모든 카페가 일하는 공간도 되는 두 가지 역할을 할 수 있다. 커피숍에서 밤늦게까지 일하는 사람들을 흔히 볼 수 있다. 무선 인터넷 서비스는 사람들이 커피 한잔과 함께 일을 하는 걸 가능하게 해 준다.
