[영어 회화] You lost me. What are you going to do?

 

(Two co-workers are talking in the office … )
Selma: I can't believe that December is already here.
Eric: Christmas will be here before you know it.
Selma: I got a jump on my Christmas shopping so I'm almost done.
Eric: I haven't even thought about it.
Selma: That's just like you … always shopping at the last minute.
Eric: Not this year. This year I'm not going to shop.
Selma: You're not buying presents for anyone?
Eric: I didn't say that. I said I'm not going to shop.
Selma: You lost me. What are you going to do?
Eric: I'm buying gift cards for everyone.

(직장 동료 둘이 사무실에서 얘기한다…)
셀마: 벌써 12월이라니 믿어지지가 않아.
에릭: 금방 크리스마스가 올 거야.
셀마: 난 일찍 크리스마스 쇼핑을 시작해서 이제 거의 다 끝냈어.
에릭: 난 생각도 못했는데.
셀마: 딱 너답다… 항상 막판에 쇼핑하는 것.
에릭: 올해는 아냐. 올해는 쇼핑 안할 거야.
셀마: 아무한테도 선물 사주지 않을 거야?
에릭: 그렇게 얘기한 건 아냐. 쇼핑을 안한다고 한 거지.
셀마: 무슨 얘기야. 어떻게 하겠다는 거야?
에릭: 모두한테 선물권을 사줄 거야.
